Reflections from the EAS Conference in Évora

I had a great time presenting at the EAS Conference at the University of Évora in Portugal 🇵🇹

I had the chance to share two research projects:
🎤 The first, together with the wonderful @sezenozeke, explored Bursa’s traditional music culture Gezek through a community music lens, sparking a discussion on the future of community music in Turkey.
🎶 The second focused on intersectionality and posthuman performativity through the inspiring music of @nuriharunates. I analysed his voice both sonically and metaphorically, discussing its implications for music education — particularly in the context of othering.

Both talks were very well received, which motivates me even more! On top of that, I had the chance to attend some truly inspiring presentations, workshops and concerts — I’m heading home full of new ideas.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this conference such a meaningful experience! 🌿
